Tex Year’s Green Platform Strategy® International Conference Highlights Circular Economy; Green Materials Exceed 87% While Expanding into High-Value AI Applications


Tex Year held the 5th International International Conference of the Green Platform Strategy® on June 23.

Tex Year (4720), one of Taiwan’s leading manufacturers of hot-melt adhesives and specialty adhesives, held the 5th International Conference of its Green Platform Strategy® on June 23, bringing together partners across the value chain, industry experts, academics, and business stakeholders to exchange insights on the latest developments in green materials.

Tex Year stated that the Green Platform Strategy®  was established in 2021 and has now entered its fifth year. In response to climate challenges and in support of the Paris Agreement, the platform connects value-chain partners and has long been dedicated to promoting technological exchange and industrial collaboration in green materials. This year’s international conference brought together domestic and international experts, scholars, and industry leaders to share forward-looking insights and industry best practices. Through cross-disciplinary dialogue and an international perspective, participants explored the critical role of green materials in sustainable development and worked together toward a more impactful future.

Regarding its core business, Tex Year launched a dedicated production line for biodegradable hot-melt adhesives last year. Green materials currently account for more than 87% of the company’s adhesive product portfolio.

Tex Year noted that the implementation of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation will accelerate the packaging industry’s transition toward material reduction, simplified design, and higher recycling rates. As packaging regulations advance and brand owners place greater emphasis on ESG requirements, packaging materials are rapidly evolving toward reduced material usage, recyclability, and bio-based solutions. In response, Tex Year continues to invest in lightweight design, recyclable-compatible adhesives, and biodegradable materials to support circular economy applications.

Bio-based adhesive products are widely used in industries such as packaging, hygiene products, DIY, and label tapes. Tex Year’s BIO-01 series hot melt adhesives are industry-leading Bio-based Compostable products that have been validated by major international institutes. These adhesives can be decomposed by microorganisms into water and carbon dioxide, ultimately returning to nature.

For more challenging substrates such as PC, ABS, PMMA, or metal materials like stainless steel (SUS 304), aluminum, and inorganic materials such as glass and ceramics, Tex Year has developed bio-based polyurethane reactive (PUR) hot melt adhesives with a bio-based content up to 40%. These structural adhesives are specially designed for electronics product assembly, offering excellent bonding strength while meeting customer demands for low-carbon and eco-friendly solutions.

Tex Year is actively expanding its specialty chemicals portfolio into high-value applications, including artificial intelligence (AI), optoelectronics, robotics, and electric vehicles. Driven by robust demand for AI servers and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), the company has achieved double-digit growth this year in conformal coating products used in power supply applications.

Despite volatility in raw material prices caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, Tex Year’s hot-melt adhesive business recorded year-over-year revenue growth in the first five months of the year, supported by effective supply chain management and order reallocation. Looking ahead, the company expects demand for hot-melt adhesives to remain stable, while overseas markets such as Vietnam and India are expected to provide additional growth momentum.
